Room 5 at St Mary's School Hokitika is a year 5 and 6 class. We have 27 students and are busy, fun and energetic!
The greatest skill in life is learning how to learn.
Welcome back to school. We have managed to have the most amazing holidays with barely a drop of rain. Members of our class did a range of things during the holidays and had a refreshing time. We welcome Amber and hope she is feeling safe and happy in our busy classroom.
Please note the overview for the term in the sidebar.
THANK YOU POSM's. We now have a cupboard full of games that we can pull out at lunch times on those wet days! Ms Lunjevich almost spent the money on sunhats for the class because of the recent weather. YAY to POSM's.
Our final week at school was a success with a very educational and exciting trip to the Goldsborough. We found bullies, mayflies, water-worms and a collection of other creepy crawlies. We tested the water quality, measuring flow, clarity, temperature and acidity. A great ending to our inquiry unit on Wetlands, Rivers and Lakes.

This is our new Interactive Whiteboard. We are very excited about the new learning opportunities it will bring. So far we can use it to play maths games, prompt us with writing ideas, we can write on it, do puzzles and play all sorts of games.
